This privacy policy applies to the Walk with Angie app for mobile devices, together with any related services operated by Collet (collectively, the "Application"). Collet is hereby referred to as the "Service Provider".
Walk with Angie is a step-tracking companion app in which a character named Angie grows healthier as you reach your daily step goal. It counts your steps, lets you earn an in-app currency ("fish") to buy costumes, tracks streaks and missions, and includes a home-screen widget and optional reminders. The Service Provider has designed the Application to keep your data private and on your device by default.
Information You Enter and Generate Stays on Your Device
The information the Application records — including your daily step counts, body-state progress, fish balance, owned and equipped costumes, completed missions, streaks, and app preferences such as language, reminder settings, the ongoing step notification toggle, and widget settings — is stored locally on your device only. The Service Provider does not collect, transmit, sell, or have access to this data, and it is not uploaded to any Service Provider server. Uninstalling the Application, or clearing its data through your device settings, permanently removes this information from your device.
Step and Physical Activity Data
To count your steps, the Application uses your device's step counter through the Android physical-activity (Activity Recognition) permission. This step data is processed on your device to update your daily progress and is stored locally as described above. It is not sent to the Service Provider.
Health Connect (Optional)
You may optionally connect the Application to Android Health Connect to obtain a more accurate step count. When connected, the Application reads your aggregated step totals from Health Connect, with your permission, and uses them only to display and update your in-app progress on your device. The Application requests read access to step data only; it does not write data to Health Connect, and it does not transmit Health Connect data to the Service Provider or any server. You can grant or revoke this access at any time in Health Connect or in your device settings, and you can use the Application without enabling it.
Information Collected by Third-Party Advertising
The Application displays advertisements through Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, AdMob and its partners may collect information automatically, which may include:
- Your device's advertising identifier and Internet Protocol (IP) address
- General device information, such as the mobile operating system and device type
- Approximate (non-precise) location derived from your IP address
- Interaction data related to the advertisements shown
This information is collected and processed by Google in accordance with its own privacy policy. The Service Provider does not receive your individual step or progress data through this process; ad-related data is handled by Google as an independent service.
Cookies and Tracking Technologies
The Application or its third-party SDKs (such as Google AdMob) may use cookies, SDKs, advertising identifiers, and similar technologies to support functionality, analytics, or ad delivery. Where required by applicable law, the Service Provider will obtain consent before using non-essential tracking technologies, and you can reset or limit ad tracking through your device's privacy settings.
Notifications
If you enable reminders or the ongoing step notification, the Application schedules local notifications on your device — such as walk reminders, goal and streak alerts, and a notification showing today's step count. These notifications are generated entirely on your device and do not send any of your information to the Service Provider or to any server.
Your Rights
Because the information you generate is stored only on your device, you can access, correct, or delete it directly within the Application or by clearing the app's data. For any personal data that may be processed through third-party advertising services, you may request access, correction, or deletion, or withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, by contacting the Service Provider at bloodturtle@naver.com.
Your California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete personal information, the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and the right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. To exercise your CCPA/CPRA rights, contact the Service Provider at bloodturtle@naver.com.
Third Party Access
The Service Provider does not transmit your step or progress data to its own external services. Data collected by third-party advertising services, as described above, is processed by those providers. The Application utilizes third-party services that have their own privacy policy regarding the handling of data. Below is the link to the privacy policy of the third-party service provider used by the Application:
The Service Provider may disclose information:
- as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena, or similar legal process;
- when they believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect their rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request;
- with their trusted service providers who work on their behalf, do not have an independent use of the information disclosed to them, and have agreed to adhere to the rules set forth in this privacy statement.
International Data Transfers
The third-party advertising service used by the Application (Google AdMob) may transfer data to countries outside your country of residence, including outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, appropriate mechanisms will be used:
- Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission
- Adequacy decisions or other legally recognized transfer mechanisms
- Your consent, where required and legally permitted
Data protection laws in other countries may differ from those in your jurisdiction. Where required by law, the Service Provider will apply appropriate safeguards and obtain any consent required for the transfer.
Opt-Out Rights
You can stop the local storage of your records by uninstalling the Application, which removes the data held on your device. You can revoke Health Connect access at any time in your device settings. To limit ad personalization, you can reset or opt out of your device's advertising identifier through your device's privacy settings. To request any action regarding data that may be processed through advertising services, or to withdraw consent, contact the Service Provider at bloodturtle@naver.com.
Data Retention Policy
- Data the Application generates (steps, progress, fish, costumes, missions, settings): Stored on your device only, for as long as the Application is installed or until you delete it. The Service Provider does not retain a copy.
- Advertising data collected by third parties: Retained and processed by Google AdMob in accordance with its own retention practices and privacy policy.
- Aggregated and Anonymized Data: May be retained indefinitely as it no longer identifies you.
- Data required for legal compliance: Retained as long as required by applicable law.
Children
The Application is not intended for children under 16 years of age, or such higher age as required by applicable law. The Service Provider does not knowingly solicit data from children or market the Application to them.
Where parental or guardian consent is required under applicable law, the Application is not intended for use without that consent. The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 16 years of age in violation of applicable law. In the event the Service Provider discovers that a child has provided personal information, the Service Provider will take steps to delete it. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided personal information, please contact the Service Provider (bloodturtle@naver.com) so that the necessary actions can be taken.
Security
The Service Provider is concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. Because your records remain on your device, their security also depends on the protections you apply to your device, such as a screen lock and operating-system updates. The Service Provider provides appropriate safeguards for any information it processes.
Data Breach Notification
If a data breach occurs that affects personal data processed by the Service Provider, the Service Provider will notify affected users in accordance with applicable legal requirements, including, where required, providing information about the nature of the breach and the steps being taken to address it.
Changes
The Service Provider may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The Service Provider will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Privacy Policy with an effective date. Where required by law, the Service Provider will seek your consent to material changes before they take effect.
Previous versions of this Privacy Policy will be maintained and made available upon request by contacting the Service Provider at bloodturtle@naver.com.
Your Consent
Where processing is based on consent, you provide that consent by affirmatively opting in to the relevant feature or action — for example, by granting the activity-recognition permission or connecting Health Connect. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal. Processing based on other lawful bases is carried out as described above.
Contact Us
If you have any questions regarding privacy while using the Application, or have questions about these practices, please contact the Service Provider via email at bloodturtle@naver.com.
